New thing today, tried a brand new food truck Carb & Nation, as well as their shrimp bun and dry cucumber soda. This truck is brand spanking new. They started just last week and I think their official grand opening is tomorrow. Anyway it even looked and smelled like a new truck and we were excited to try it.
Service was prompt and polite. My shrimp bun was spicy and savory. I loved the sweet bun around it too - the flavors went well together. I would have liked more crunch from more shrimp chip bits or dare I say salad or lettuce or something. It was like an Asian poboy and not deep fried. I liked it and would probably get it again. Great price too for $3.50.
I also decided to try the dry cucumber soda as I enjoy cucumber water and club soda. It was good! I still find it weird that a drink can be described as "dry" but yes it was very dry, in that wine way, but without the buzz. I think I would have preferred something sweeter though as I was in that mood. But if you feel like having flavored club soda it's pretty unique and interesting - $2.50.
Their main menu items looked good and from what I heard people liked them. The only thing is they're one of the pricier food trucks with main dishes going for $9 or so and tax included can bump youse costs up. I want to try their date side dish and overall this is one of the new gourmet trucks out there. Good luck and hope it does well.
