Sushi Koy

New thing of the day, tried a new Japanese restaurant - Sushi Koy.

Had an icky day at work and was craving sushi. Awesome husband of mine was game, so we decided to try a new place - Sushi Koy. Heard from a few coworkers that it was delicious. Yelp rated it 4 stars, so decided to try it out.

I actually dreaded trying this new place. Sushi gets expensive but I love Japanese food. I wanted to eat sushi and just try something new and good. Risking $9-12 on a dish I've never tried before isn't something I do comfortably. So here we go.

First thing I ordered was the Jimmy Roll #1. It was recommended on Yelp - but there are 3 Jimmy Rolls and I was conflicted as to which one to try. The Jimmy Roll #1 had no rice, a cucumber wrapper, some fresh tuna and some pink mushy stuff I don't remember what it is. The roll tasted better when the cucumber and roll is separated. The sauce and wasabi/sesame were good. Overall I just didn't like the roll that much. I was disappointed and sad at the $9 we spent.

When we were ordering I didn't want to put all my eggs in one sushi basket, so decided to try the Tuna Rolls at $5. It had a star next to it, and it was a bit cheaper. This was amazing delicious! It looked unusual. A lot more stuff on top of the rolls than I'm used to. Every bite was Unami! Oh so amazing. And best of all it was only $5. Too bad there were only 2 pieces.

Husband got the chicken teriyaki dinner. Tempura, salad and teriyaki were really really good. It even came with steak fries which were pretty good. Overall yummy and I really liked the chicken teriyaki and salad.

Overall Sushi Koy gets a 4 out of 5. I will try different rolls next time, and definitely the tuna roll. That may possibly be the best roll I've ever had?! Mmmmmm. Sushi Koy - new spot to try out and hopefully become a regular at.
