New thing today, watched
Gangster Squad (2013). It was dramatic, stylized and ok. I got bored and wasn't really invested in the story & started playing
Candy Mania & Candy Crush in the middle of it. Overall I think the real life story behind it would have been more interesting than the movie. I liked all the actors and they all did a good job. I just think it was a bit much - with more style than substance. It was a lot of flash and bang, and a caricature of the time period. It almost feels like the characters were very Noir one dimensional. Great characters are relatable and dynamic, and the good vs bad guys here were just very cliche. Cool movie though if you're in the mood. Husband enjoyed it and I think I'll look up the real life story behind this.
