Ballerina - Documentary

New thing of today, watched the documentary "Ballerina".

I love ballerinas. One of my favorite movies is Center Stage. I don't know if it's because I grew up in the 80s and took ballet classes as a kid, but I just love ballerinas. It's a little more graceful and elegant than other forms of dance. It's just so hypnotic to watch them dance. Not sure if I could sit through an entire ballet. Haven't tried it yet but perhaps I should add it to my list of new things to do.

This documentary appealed to me and talks about Russian ballerinas at the Kirov ballet. It follows the stories of 5 very successful ballerinas. It has clips of their training and various clips of their ballets. It's amazing how much work it is, and how easy and graceful they look. It's truly an art, and some ballerinas just demonstrate so much more feeling and drama when they're on stage. It is hypnotic and the ballerinas are just so beautiful.

It's not that in depth. Just gives a general overview of their lives and the different stories behind some of the more successful ballerinas. Overall I liked the documentary. I may add more ballets to my Neflix queue if I can. It's just so beautiful and artistic to watch. Definitely a chick thing.
